To identify, nurture, and connect young talents in Uganda with global peers through a cross-cultural exchange and mentorship program, fostering personal, artistic, and spiritual growth, while empowering them to use their gifts for community impact and the glory of God.
Objectives
Use talent as a tool for spiritual growth, creating an environment where talents are developed for the glory of God
Provide mentorship, training, and resources (studio recording, rehearsal spaces) for young talents to develop their skills and share their work publicly
Through community auditions and talent scouting, identify young talent in Uganda and connect them to the church community.
Connect Ugandan youth with their global peers through pen-pal programs, collaborative projects, and mentorship.
Match older participants with younger ones for skill-based mentoring and personal guidance.
Facilitate connections that provide exposure to global opportunities for learning, exchange, and collaboration.
Key Project Components
- Host talent search events in local communities to identify young people with gifts in music, arts, and performance.
- Focus on bringing talents from the streets to the church for spiritual and personal development.
- Hold annual communal worship and worship episode events, where these talents will be showcased.
- Connect Ugandan youth with peers abroad through age- and interest-based matching.
- Facilitate communication through letters, emails, or video conferencing.
- Use platforms such as ePals, PenPal Schools, and Global Penfriends for a safe and structured communication process.
- Encourage collaboration on projects like joint music creation, art, or storytelling.
- Provide regular training sessions in music, arts, communication, and personal development.
- Invite global volunteers to provide training in specialized fields.
- Offer certifications for skills learned through partnerships with global training organizations.
- Older participants mentor younger talents, guiding them through the process of artistic and personal growth.
- Record and produce music and performances in a studio environment.
- Promote the works of talented youths through social media, radio, and television.
- Create opportunities for youths to perform at weddings, worship events, and other community occasions.
- Create a support system where all participants gather monthly to share their personal journeys, struggles, and successes.
- Hold a collective prayer session where the group can lift each other up and build a sense of community and belonging.
- Establish a mandatory savings scheme where members contribute weekly or monthly. This fund can be used to support members in times of need, making it a strong, supportive community.
- Provide financial literacy training to help young talents learn about money management, investments, and sustainable livelihoods.
- Participation in the savings scheme is tied to receiving support during hardships.
